Ashley L. Varterasian is an associate attorney with Belongia, Shapiro & Franklin, LLP. She joined the firm in 2008 as a law clerk and became an associate attorney in 2009. Her professional experience has spanned the areas of civil rights, debt collection, employment discrimination, and family law.
Ashley graduated from the John Marshall Law School in 2009. As a student, she was Secretary of the Student Bar Association, Justice of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity and participated in mentoring incoming first-year students. Ashley also worked part-time as a law clerk and was a judicial extern for the Honorable E. Kenneth Wright, Jr., Presiding Judge of the First Municipal District of Cook County. Ashley received her bachelor of arts from the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor in 2006 with a major in Biopsychology and Cognitive Sciences and a minor in Criminal Justice. While there, Ashley was a member of the Alpha Chi Omega Sorority, Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law Fraternity, and volunteered at both the University of Michigan Health System and the Veterans Affairs Ann Arbor Healthcare System. Ashley is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, Chicago Bar Association, American Bar Association, and Armenian Bar Association. Her bar admissions include the State of Illinois and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. |
