John J. Tufano, Jr. is an associate attorney with Belongia, Shapiro & Franklin, LLP. He joined the firm in 2010 as a law clerk and became an associate attorney in 2011. He concentrates his practice in business and commercial litigation and insurance litigation.

He received his Juris Doctor from South Texas College of Law in 2010 and was a member of the Dean’s List. While in law school, he served as a judicial intern to the Honorable John Donovan, Civil Court Judge for Harris County, Texas. He also interned in the international projects division of JAMS International ADR Center in Rome, Italy, where he developed a broad understanding of international business demands and related legal issues. John was president of the Justinian Society of Lawyers and president of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Advocates. Upon graduating, he received the Hans Lawton / Jim Alfini Award in Dispute Resolution. He received his Bachelor of Arts in psychology from the University of Dallas in 2006, where he was also a four-year member of the University of Dallas baseball team.

John is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, in which he was appointed recently to the Corporation, Securities & Business Law Section Council. He is a member of the Chicago Bar Association, in which he was appointed recently to co-chair the Young Lawyers Society International and Foreign Law Committee. John is active in the Justinian Society of Lawyers, the Catholic Lawyers Guild of Chicago, and the Italy-America Chamber of Commerce. He is admitted to practice in the State of Illinois.
