Elizabeth M. Schutte

Elizabeth M. Schutte joined Belongia, Shapiro & Franklin, LLP as an associate attorney in 2010. Her professional experience has spanned the areas of business and commercial litigation, including commodity trading disputes, partnership disputes and insurance defense. She has represented clients in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Illinois and various Illinois state courts.

Liz graduated from The John Marshall Law School in 2008. As a student, she was a member of the dean’s list and served as a Student Publications Editor of The John Marshall Law Review. Liz also worked part-time as a law clerk at two Chicago law firms, assisting in a range of litigation matters. Liz received her Bachelor of Science from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University in 2004 with concentrations in marketing, international studies and legal studies. While there, Liz was a member of the Delta Zeta sorority and worked part-time at the business school’s library. Additionally, in 2003, Liz resided in Maastricht, The Netherlands where she studied at the School of Business and Economics.

Liz is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, Chicago Bar Association and Women’s Bar Association of Illinois. She is admitted to practice in the State of Illinois, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and is awaiting admission to the State of New York.
