Nathaniel R. Sinn

Nathaniel Sinn is a senior associate in the Restructuring, Workout & Foreclosure, and the Real Estate Transaction & Litigation groups at Belongia, Shapiro & Franklin. His practice focuses on the representation of financial institutions in all aspects of distressed loans and property, as well as real estate transactions and litigation. Mr. Sinn’s practice includes representing secured creditors in workout situations, matters under the Uniform Commercial Code, and creditors’ rights-related litigation. Mr. Sinn has litigated in state and federal courts in multiple jurisdictions, and represented parties in numerous transactions.

Nathaniel earned his Master of Laws (LL.M.) in real estate law in 2010 from the Center for Real Estate Law at The John Marshall Law School in Chicago. While completing the program, he was a member of the Student Chapter of Lambda Alpha International and aided several of his professors in the publication of articles while maintaining a full time practice. In 2004, he earned his Juris Doctorate from the Maurer School of Law at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, where at the direction of a committee of law school deans he acted as a mentor to incoming students. Nathaniel received his Bachelor of Science in pre-professional studies, medicine, from the University of Notre Dame in 2001. While attending Notre Dame, Nathaniel was honored with numerous awards for his service in the community, including the Keenan Hall Service Award and the Silver Spoon Award from Dismas House of Michiana.

Mr. Sinn is an active member of the Notre Dame Club of Chicago, and a member of the Illinois State Bar Association. He is admitted to practice in the States of Illinois and Indiana, as well as the United States District Courts for the Northern and Central Districts of Illinois, the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana, and the Eastern District of Michigan.
